Recognizing that many veterans & family members are in need of much deserved engagement, VETSxHBCU aims to fill in the gaps where they exist for the over 15,000 student veterans and family members currently enrolled at over 100 HBCUs across the nation by connecting everyone to opportunities. We wish to empower the military-connected community on HBCUs & minority-serving institutions across the nation through advocacy, education, wellness, and workshops.
HBCUs and minority-serving institutions can be excellent opportunities for veterans and families to grow after service, so we want to support that transition how we can. We will forge connections amongst a vast network of opportunities to help students and faculty thrive during their time in higher education. These professional connections will facilitate career growth, networking, and potential employment at institutions, organizations, and companies that understand the unique value graduates from minority-serving institutions bring to the discussion table. Using this culturally-informed lens, VETSxHBCU intends to form a better future for the veterans, family members, students, and staff members at these institutions of higher learning.
